The Fresno Grizzlies, triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, play this season of baseball at the downtown Fresno ballpark - Chuckchansi Park, where they have played ball since 2002. Fresno Falcons. Minor League hockey’s Fresno Falcons - AA affiliates to the San Jose Sharks - heat up the ice at Selland Arena. Led by Coach Matt Thomas and loaded with talent, the Fresno Falcons welcome hockey fans for another exciting year of ECHL Hockey. The history of hockey in Fresno dates back 60 years to 1946 when the Fresno Falcons opened play in the Pacific Coast Hockey League at the Fresno Ice Arena. The Falcons moved to the ECHL, North America’s Premier “AA” Hockey League, and the Save Mart Center for the 2003-04 season. The Falcons return to Selland Arena on Oct. 24 to play their arch rivals! Fresno Fuego Soccer Team. The Fresno Fuego Futbal Club, winners of the PDL SouthWest Divisional title, play exciting soccer Chuckchansi Park in downtown Fresno.
